"Sustainable development will only be achieved by ensuring that the economic, social, cultural and environmental dimensions of development be addressed in an integrated and balanced manner. This requires breaking down institutional and mental barriers between different sectors of society, and forging instead close cooperation across sectors." -UNESCO

"Without the support of Globalhood, this would not have been possible. I remember almost to the month and date the encouragement I have got when I was on the verge of giving up....Last night was one of the few evenings when I returned from work and i felt a deep sense of peace because I felt that we all had achieved something: the peace was not just about "giving", because I have given or donated time or money to charities: it was about getting something off the ground. And for that, I must thank the critical role that your team has played and will continue to play..." Globalhood Incubation client, April 2008

MotherNurture: Children for mothers. Nurturing mothers to nurture the world
MotherNurture taps into the child-mother bond by encouraging children to come up with and act on innovative ideas to mobilize support for poor mothers. When poor mothers benefit, their families benefit as well. Children learn the joys of giving, volunteering, and becoming leaders.

Youth Connecting Communities
Currently under development in partnership with ZoomLab, YoCoCo uses Web 2.0 technology and travel to create both virtual and actual opportunities for creative collaboration, vocational training, and community building, for disadvantaged New York youth and rural youth in developing countries.

The Sinkunia Integrated Apiculture Program (SIAP)
SIAP aims to enhance living conditions and strengthen rural livelihoods in and around the Dembelia-Sinkunia Chiefdom in northern Sierra Leone, through sustainable apiculture and improved agriculture workshops that will help to alleviate stress on local biodiversity and habitat, including local chimpanzee populations. By supplementing traditional honey harvesting practices with sustainable apiculture, SIAP can stimulate economic growth within our target communities.

POGLED, a project currently under development in collaboration with Globalhood and the Bulgaria-America Cultural Exchange, will focus on the new generation of Bulgarians as agents of change and develop in them skills of creative expression, community work, leadership, and media. POGLED will train and enable high-school age youth from marginalized areas of Bulgaria to give their communities a voice and participate in civil society by expressing pressing community issues through the making of short films. POGLED's students will share their work on the internet and through a film festival, developing a broader sense of community and empowerment amongst underprivileged youth in Bulgaria. POGLED will help youth to have a voice to express their concerns about the issues that they face in their own communities, and will provide them with a national and international network of peers to collaborate with them on finding sustainable solutions to those same issues.
